Well was in Louisville this weekend and wanted a unique place to eat dinner. I saw the many reviews of Louie's and decided to try it. I was in the mood for pork bbq. The location is fairly small and has a few seats to eat at inside as well as many outdoor picnic tables. I also got some baked beans and the corn on the cob. My son got the Nashville hot chicken tenders.
The barbecue was quite good. They give golden sauce and regular. I like a lot of sauce and ended up using both on the sandwich. Beans were excellent too. Corn on the cob had a bit of seasoning on it to add flavor. My son really liked the chicken strips and devoured the Mac and cheese and green beans.
Service was quick and the service was friendly. Oh I almost forgot you have to get the fried Oreos. I had not had them before but the were amazing. You get four of them. -

So far I have tried the corn, fries, green beans, potato salad, cole slaw, smoked wings and pulled pork. I didn't care for the potato salad or cole slaw, but everything else is fantastic!!
The wings are $1 which feels a little pricey, but I get full off of 4-6 of them! Also, the green beans have this excellent meaty flavor and are seasoned well - I don't feel the need to add salt and pepper for a change! There's a few different sauces to try, I highly recommend their version of a spicy BBQ, it's a nice little treat.
Most of the seating situation seems to be outside. I usually order my food to go and take it back to the office. Parking can be tricky at times too - just a heads up!
Overall, definitely going again for when I have a hankering to green beans and wings! -

This was just one of those places where you decide it's "just OK".
We tried the wings, chicken, and tenders and their sides. The chicken had way too much salt on it and was really greasy. Their sides were similar to store bought sides. And their wings were average.
I would eat it again, but only if I was in the area and noting else sounded good. -

Nashville style hot chicken, brisket, pulled pork, smoked wings.. that's just the meat options to start with!
I chose the medium level hot chicken, which was perfect. I will probably try the hot next time just to see, but this chicken was amazing! A little salt on the skin just set it off to another level! I bought a couple wings to try as a recommendation from a random fan in the shop.. they were superb as well. The Mac and cheese and green beans also hit the right spot. My first trip to this small hole in the wall restaurant was nothing short of awesome. I only wish they had some real seating. Maybe one day they can find a larger location! They will need it once this secret is out. -

Holy crap! How have we not come here before?! This is some of the best BBQ I've ever had in the city of Louisville. The portions were massive and the pulled pork and brisket were melt-in-your mouth tender with hardly any fat on them. The sides were also incredible. The green beans had large chunks of flavorful brisket in it and the baked beans had a nice smoky touch to them. The fries were crispy and well seasoned too!The corn on the cob was grilled and so buttery! We will definitely be back to try their other offerings especially the chicken!
